Dong Energy has opened consultation for its Hornsea Project Three development 120km off the north Norfolk coast.
The Danish energy giant has published its Preliminary Environmental Impact Report (PEIR) which shows updated plans for the proposed locations of cables and an onshore substation from the windfarm project. If fully developed it could produce 2.4 gigawatts of energy – the equivalent of the daily needs of two million homes.
The public consultation runs until September 20 and will feature a series of community consultations at areas which may be affected by the plans.
Project development manager Stuart Livesey said Dong had received useful information from previous consultations. He said: “We want to ensure the local communities continue to feel involved and have the opportunity to comment on, and influence, the final project that is submitted in 2018.”
