More than £20,000 has been generated for a town’s economy during the lockdown by a business group that promotes local companies.
Diss Business Networking International (DBNI) has raised more than £1m in the past year and has continued to promote businesses in the town during the coronavirus lockdown.
The chapter’s new president, Martin Cobbald, managing director of Dealey Pest Control, said: “The lockdown coincided with my new role as president for the group and our first challenge as the leadership team for the group was to recreate our weekly business meetings online.
“The new format has proved to be a success, with our members generating over £21,000 worth of business for each other last week. I am not surprised by our members resilience and continued commitment to each other in these uncertain times, but I am delighted.”
The DBNI has rallied round NHS essential workers with mortgage consultant, Paul Campbell, of Mortgage Response, waiving fees for NHS workers and Roger Dukes of GM Autotech, in Harleston, prioritising work on key workers vehicles.
