Residents have welcomed the reopening of a Post Office in a mid-Norfolk village.
Castle Acre Post Office officially opened its doors to the public this week following a major project to demolish and rebuild the existing building to create a modern shop.
Postmaster Rashpal Singh oversaw the work to increase the size of the shop at Foxes Meadow, near Swaffham, to expand retail space at the convenience store. The newly-built shop also has electronic doors for easier access.
The project, mainly funded by the Postmaster, was also supported by a grant from the Post Office Community Fund.
The grant is part of a £20m national investment scheme available to 3,000 crucial community Post Office branches, where there is no other retailer who could operate a post office within half a mile. While the fund forms part of a wider Post Office modernisation programme to help deliver more benefits.
