A landowner who blamed Brexit for his plan to host outdoor concerts at his Cromer estate is now set to launch what he claims will be the town's only campsite.
The 'back to basics'' campsite will offer 270 pitches on historic parkland near Benjamin Cabbell Manners' Cromer Hall home.
Cromer Camping will open for the last week of July and throughout August.
Permission was granted earlier this year for the facility which is next to Amazona Zoo on Hall Road.
Mr Cabbell Manners, a farmer, is currently seeking a premises licence to hold up to three picnic concerts each summer at the estate.
He said that, as a result of the Brexit vote, he had lost his Higher Level Stewardship payments.
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) scheme, administered by Natural England, pays landowners to improve soil, encourage wildlife, and preserve landscape character and the historic environment.
Spokesman for Mr Cabbell Manners, Kate Morfoot, said an application could be made to extend the opening period if the campsite proves a success.
'Other campsites are located around the town, but this is the only one in the heart of Cromer,' explained Mrs Morfoot.
'We are dipping a toe in the water to see how it goes – the whole idea is to look at diversification of the estate.
'The aim is to tap into the growth in tourism market following Brexit and with the expense of going to Europe rising more people will be looking to stay at home.'
She added: 'The whole ethos is back to basics, with everything visitors need right on the doorstep.'
