A regional finance firm has signed up to a government scheme which aims to support gender diversity at all levels in the industry.

Beckett Investment Management, based in Bury St Edmunds, has pledged its support for the treasury’s Women in Finance charter.

Launched in 2016, the charter asks finance firms to undertake four actions to improve their pipeline for female talent to reach leadership positions.

Samantha Owen, associate director at Beckett Investment Management, said: “The charter helps improve opportunities and progression for women in financial services and ensures that talented people can progress irrespective of their gender.

“We already enjoy exceptional levels of gender diversity at our firm – 54% of our employees are women and 57% of our board members are women. Signing up to the charter means we commit to maintaining this balance.”
