Christmas magic takes over Bungay as thousands enjoy festive market

The Bungay Christmas Street Market saw the town centre packed with families and shoppers as they weaved their way past dozens of stalls on Sunday.

Children had an extra treat as Father Christmas arrived in the town, escorted by the town crier.

Also among the small army of stalls was a stand promoting the Fisher Theatre’s production of Dick Whittington and his cat.

There was also a human fruit machine manned by members of the Rotary Club of Bungay.

Among those having a go on the machine was Bungay Town Reeve Mary Sprake, who was delighted to see the market so well supported again. She said: “It is brilliant for the town and it is brilliant for the shops.”

The town also saw its Christmas lights switched on on Friday night.
