A regional utilities company has laid down plans to invest £384m in the region's water infrastructure.
Anglian Water's investment plan will be targeted at areas including reducing leakage, improving the quality of drinking water, protecting against severe weather and tackling the impacts of climate change.
A flagship project will be the completion of a £34m scheme at Heigham water treatment works in Norwich to protect the environment along the River Wensum and secure supplies as the city grows.
The plan also includes: £100m to maintain and refurbish hundreds of water treatment works and water recycling centres; £48m to renew parts of the 37,000km water pipe network; £10m to replace parts of the 70,000km sewer network; and a further £22m to reduce leakage levels.
This is the fourth year of Anglian Water's five-year, £5bn commitment to maintain and improve water and sewerage services to 2020.
