Australian singing sensation Jason Donovan has rescheduled his upcoming Lowestoft date, following issues with his speaking voice.

The former Neighbours star, whose hits include Especially for You, Sealed with a Kiss and Too Many Broken Hearts, was scheduled to appear at the Marina Theatre in December as part of his Midlife Crisis Tour.

However, in a statement posted to his Twitter account, the singer announced that due to difficulties with his speaking voice, he was postponing 35 of his upcoming shows - including Lowestoft.

In his statement, Mr Donovan said: 'It is with huge regret that due to reasons associated with my speaking voice, I've decided to postpone my forthcoming Midlife Crisis Tour until Spring 2018.

'Those that know me will know that this was not an easy decision, nor a decision taken lightly. For the past 10 years I've done hundreds of shows and have only ever cancelled a handful of dates.

'As you can imagine, when your speaking voice is strained, it's difficult to embark on a 35 date tour that primarily revolves around me telling stories about my career and life.'

The singer has, however, confirmed rescheduled dates for the tour, which will see him perform at Marina Theatre on Monday, April 16, 2018.

A spokesman for the theatre said: 'Everyone who has already booked a ticket with us, will automatically retain the same seats for the performance in April.

'Our box office team will be contacting all existing bookers to let them know about the postponement - with people also having the option to obtain a refund if required.'

Mr Donovan added: 'I want to be on top form so as I can enjoy the experience, and more importantly, you as an audience can share these memories without a sense that I'm compromising my performance and therefore my personality.

'Postponing this tour was the absolute last option, but necessary if I'm to explore all avenues associated with improving this condition, which strains my speaking voice but does not directly affect my singing vice.'

The singer has also rescheduled an event at King's Lynn Corn Exchange, which will now happen on Saturday, Feburary 24, 2018.
