Now police are appealing for witnesses to any suspicious activity in the area.

The lambs were taken from a field in Halvergate between 9pm on Monday and 9am on Tuesday.

It is understood that some of the lambs are newborns and the majority are only three weeks old.

Police have asked anyone with information or who may have seen anything suspicious in the area on Monday night to contact Norfolk Police on 101.

Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
