And a 1980's DJ icon who had a hand in both is helping Great Yarmouth's Tower Arena to celebrate the decade.

On Saturday June 10 Pat Sharp, best known for his mullet hairstyle and as host of ITV's Fun House, will deliver an exclusive DJ set at the seafront venue as part of its Ultimate Eighties experience.

Sharp who has also appeared on Top of the Pops, Big Brother's Big Mouth, and I'm a Celebrity Get me Out of Here has also hosted shows on Radio One, Smooth, and Capital FM. In the 80s he had his own chart success under Pat and Mick with tracks including Haven't Stopped Dancing Yet and Let's All Chant.

Director Sandy Aldred said: 'Pat is one of those names that defines an era. We all have such great memories and what a way to celebrate them.

'The people of the East love a retro party and we're proud to offer premium entertainment, putting Great Yarmouth firmly on the map again.'

Ryan Martin, co-director of Tower Arena said things were looking up for the town's nighttime economy: 'For our recent events we had people come from all across the country, as far afield as Coventry, London, and Southampton,' he said.

'We have been praised for the entertainment, customer service, and security. We would like to thank our customers and the people of the East Coast for their continued support, and are pleased to say there is much more to come.'
