Wroxham's position at the foot of the table is looking increasing hopeless – and if their current poor form continues it won't be long before relegation is confirmed.

The Yachtsmen are effectively 14 points from safety with just nine matches left to play following their 2-1 defeat at Heybridge Swifts on Tuesday night.

That means they need to wins five games to stand even a mathematical chance of staying up – unlikely for a side who have managed only six all season.

A more realistic target for David Coyle's side is just to get a few positive results under their belts following a miserable run of six straight league defeats, starting with a home game against mid-table Romford today.

Mid-table Dereham Town, who for some time have had nothing but pride to play for, will be looking for a third successive win after encouraging results at Cheshunt (3-2) and at home to Waltham Abbey (2-1).

They travel to a Brentwood side currently in the relegation zone but who, unlike Wroxham, have a decent chance of survival.

Norwich United travel to high-flying Thurrock knowing they face a tough task if they are to halt a two-game losing streak.

With last Saturday's home game against Phoenix Sports postponed due to a waterlogged pitch and Tuesday evening's Norfolk Senior Cup semi-final against King's Lynn Town looming, manager Steve Eastaugh will be keen to see his side bounce back from defeats against struggling Brentwood Town and play-off chasers Bowers & Pitsea.

A big improvement in performance against Bowers & Pitsea, despite the 5-0 scoreline, means the Planters can go into these two difficult tasks with some confidence they can return to the form that had seen them rise up the table.

Third-placed Thurrock, however, will be looking to extend a three-match winning streak as they look to cement their play-off place. A 4-0 defeat at then leaders Maldon & Tiptree looked to have finished their hopes of automatic promotion, but wins at home to Bury Town and Bowers & Pitsea followed by a very impressive 1-0 win at Brightlingsea Regent last Saturday have kept them firmly in the promotion race.

Lee Mason misses out for the Planters through suspension.
