The announcement of a new structure at Carrow Road has received a mixed response from Norwich City fans - with supporters frustrated at the time being taken to announce who will fill the roles.
The club has confirmed that Steve Stone will become the club's managing director, but it remains unclear who will occupy the new roles of sporting director and head coach.James Garrett-Pegge, 62, from Happisburgh, said: 'I'm pretty disappointed in the announcement. The writing was on the wall for Alex Neil for months and you'd have thought they'd have had a plan B in place, but this makes it completely obvious that they didn't have one. I thought by now they would be announcing who would be in these roles by now.
'I would be in favour of having a big name for a change, although they generally want to bring in their own people. so I'm not sure how that would fit with this head coach role.
'I wouldn't be unhappy if Roy Hodgson came in as sporting director. I'm sure he could get the team playing, but Celtic's David Moss also sounds like he could be interesting.'
Michael Saunders, 53, a business manager who travels from Worthing to follow the Canaries, said: 'You could argue it's just a question of semantics and the reality is that these roles are all pretty much the same sort of jobs they have always been.
'To an extent, I think it's a bit of smoke and mirrors that more is changing than really will. We don't seem to be any further forward than we were a week ago.
'They do need to go with someone who has football experience, which has been sadly lacking. I'm afraid Alan Pardew has the air of the new Glenn Roeder about him.
'I know people talk about little old Norwich, but the real success stories haven't been the big names. It's been the likes of Dave Stringer, Mike Walker, Nigel Worthington and Paul Lambert who have worked. That's why I was pleased we went for Alex Neil and that did work, for a while.'
James Warminger, 17, from Costessey, said he thought the new structure was the right way forward, although he said: 'I was really hoping we would find out today who our new manager was going to be. I would like to see Alan Pardew here. I think he has got the experience in the game.'
Paul Bullock, 38, from Stalham, said: 'I think it is a step in the right direction. The idea of a sporting director seems to be a good one. 'I'd like to see someone with a bit of experience guiding a head coach who is a bit younger, maybe someone like Steven Gerrard or Tim Sherwood.'
Joanne Williams, 41, from Fakenham, said: 'I think it is good news. If we can get a head coach who knows what they are doing with the players, that will get them playing. But I've no idea who I'd want them to get in.'
