The rehabilitation of Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe’s career since his Norwich City frustrations finished has been capped with title success in the top tier in Poland.

Legia Warsaw sealed the Polish Ekstraklasa title yesterday, with the Belgian midfielder playing all of a 0-0 home draw with fourth-placed Lechia Gdansk.

It was a nervous finale though as Warsaw held out against a team down to 10 men for over 20 minutes and nearest rivals Jagiellonia missing the chance to snatch the crown in a 2-2 draw with third-placed Lech Poznan.

Odjidja-Ofoe has rediscovered fitness and form after seeing his Norwich career brought to an end last summer when he joined Warsaw for an undisclosed fee.

The Belgium international was signed from Club Brugge in a deal reportedly worth around £3m in the summer of 2014 as City looked to build a promotion push following relegation from the Premier League.

Odjidja-Ofoe managed just 19 appearances and failed to find the back of the net across two seasons though, with injury problems restricting him to eight starts.

The Belgian showed flashes of his ability but left Canaries fans stunned after his exit when he took his talents to European football’s top table – when scoring a superb goal against Real Madrid in the Champions League in November.

His stunning strike, weaving past two markers before slotting a powerful shot off the outside of his left boot into the top-left corner of the net, came in a 3-3 group stage draw and earned him Uefa’s goal of the week award.

He made a total of 38 appearances and scored five goals in domestic and European football this season – tasting narrow defeat to eventual finalists Ajax in the last 32 of the Europa League – and is now celebrating helping Warsaw retain their title.
