As the Canaries prepare to unveil their 2012/13 away kit at the club's Chapefield store today we take a look back at some of your best, and worst, Norwich City kits from the past.

Player of the Year Grant Holt, midfielder Jonny Howson and new signing Jacob Butterfield will reveal the new away shirt at 5pm.

Afterwards the players will hold an autograph signing session until 6pm in the store - where the new away kit will immediately be available to buy.

Memorable Norwich City strips from the past include:

• The 1981 pinstripe look, courtesy of Adidas. It was simple, smart and a winner, with Ken Brown's team winning promotion from Division Two.

• Asics were the first company to become Norwich City's main sponsor and manufacture the kit, which they wore from 1989 to 1992. The smart strip was made in Japan, or at least by a Japanese company, and replica shirts often sell for more than 100 on ebay.

• In 2009 the club donned a replica of the iconic 1959 strip for two FA Cup games against Charlton. Alas, they did not do justice to the wonderful old shirt.

• On Norwich City's Premier League return, Italian kit manufacturers Errea delivered their first Norwich number - and a popular one at that. The classic, simple design brought record sales and the football-shirts.co.uk award for best top-flight shirt last season.

• The Canaries' white and purple number was never worn in a competitive fixture, so the crazy-paving sleeves were not given the audience they could have had. In fact, the kit was worn just once by the first team - in a friendly against Kuwait in 1992.

• The most successful 18 months in Norwich City's history - when the Canaries conquered most of the Premier League and Bayern Munich - will also be remembered for that egg and cress kit.

• The 1996 home kit was baggy - very baggy - and it didn't help that City had quite a few diminutive players such as Darren Eadie, Robert Fleck and Mike Milligan who were swamped by it.

• The 1995 blue away effort wasn't the worst kit ever worn by the Canaries but does tartan really work on a football shirt?

Now it's over to you. What are your best, and worst, Norwich City kits? Post your comments below.
