Carlton Morris admits he is 'champing at the bit' to get his loan at Rotherham United up and running.

The young Norwich City striker joined the Millers on the final day of the transfer window despite having picked up a hamstring problem a fortnight earlier but didn't make his loan debut until last week.

The 21-year-old – who also recently signed a new contract keeping him with the Canaries until 2020 – made his debut for relegation-bound Rotherham in the 70th minute of a 5-1 loss at QPR.

He hopes to follow that up with more game-time when Fulham arrive at the New York Stadium on Saturday, when he could do City a favour by hurting a play-off rival.

'Eight games is a lot of games in football and a lot can happen,' Morris said. 'We could pick up a bit of form and get a few points and I could make some chances and take some chances, we will just have to see how it goes.

'This is kind of fresh for me so I'm champing at the bit to go out and work hard for the boys and the manager.'

Morris scored eight goals in 33 games for Scottish Premiership side Hamilton last season and had scored eight goals in 15 games for the Canaries U23s this season.

'What are my assets? Pace, strength and hopefully finishing. I can use both feet and win a few headers as well,' City's FA Youth Cup winner continued, speaking to the Rotherham Advertiser.

'When I was at Norwich going through the youth team and then in the U21s, I always popped up with a few goals and I helped Hamilton to a few last season as well. Hopefully I can keep that going here.'
