Recently departed Norwich City striker Gary Hooper has won the Professional Footballers Association Fans' Championship player of the month award for January.

The 28-year-old signed for Sheffield Wednesday in a deal reportedly worth around £3million, following a successful loan spell with the Owls.

Five goals in five games last month saw Hooper win Wednesday's player of the month award as well, as he helps continue a push for a place in the Championship play-offs, with his new club currently two points clear of seventh-placed Ipswich.

The former Celtic star also scored twice in a 2-1 win at Birmingham City at the weekend, taking his tally to nine goals in his last 10 games for the Owls.

Hooper scored 20 goals in 70 games for the Canaries after joining from Celtic for a fee of around £5million in the summer of 2013 and helped City to promotion last season.
