This season may not have gone to plan for Josh Murphy, but the winger is focusing on finishing strongly for Norwich City.

The 22-year-old is looking to start three successive league games for the first time in the current campaign when the Canaries take on Leeds at Elland Road tomorrow.

Murphy started the 3-1 win at Preston, scoring his fourth senior goal of the season, and the 2-0 victory over already promoted Brighton last week and is hopeful of continuing that run.

'I'm focused on the Leeds game and continuing the run of form I've been in,' City's academy product said.

'It's all about preparing for next season. Hopefully it will be a good one where I get a lot of minutes and contribute to us pushing for promotion with goals and assists.

'This season has been frustrating, I think that's the same for everyone in the team. You're going to have your ups and downs but now I want to kick on towards next year.

'We want to get cohesion in the team and that's what we'll be aiming for.'

Murphy has made 30 appearances in all competitions this season, also being credited with four assists, but just 11 of those have been starts.

The 2013 FA Youth Cup winner now has 113 appearances in senior football on his CV though, having also spent time on loan at MK Dons and Wigan in the Championship previously.

Along with twin brother Jacob, he signed a new contract which extended his terms with the Canaries until 2021 during this season, and both look likely to have key roles in the club's future.

'We've played well the last couple of weeks so now we want to end the season on a high,' Murphy continued, speaking to City's official website.

'We're playing for the future, for next year, and the boys have shown up well lately. Now it's about giving the fans something to shout about after a disappointing season.

'Leeds are looking to stay in the play-offs so it's going to be a tough game. We've shown when we're at it we can take on any team however, so hopefully we can go there and put on a show.

'We spoiled Brighton's party last Friday and now it's about spoiling theirs. We know we should be in their position; it's not nice that we're not and there's no question we can go there and get a result.'
