Diss CC 25 winner Matthew Senter (53:06) was just 17 seconds off the course record for the Bressingham to Thetford and back course.
The King's Lynn man's young rival, from Yarmouth, Harley Matthews (DAP CC) was 31 seconds adrift at 53:37.
With 60 of the 75 entrants over the age of 40, competition was intense for the veteran's awards.
David Procter, also from King's Lynn and riding for VeloVelocity, came out on top – his 55:40 beat his standard for age 55 by 13:25, while his nearest challenger, Andrew Grant (Cambridge CC, 58:22), bettered his standard as a 64-year-old by 13:14.
In the Veterans TTA 10 at Redenhall results on age standard took priority.
Best here was 72-year-old Chris Roberts (Pedal Revolution) whose 23:25 yielded a 'plus' of +6:01.
Top lady was Jenny Anderson (Great Yarmouth CC) while VC Baracchi's Chris Womack, John Swanbury and Ali Banks were the team winners (+6:01).
Strength, tactical nous and a touch of luck gave Strada Sport a one-two-three win at RAF Honington – in wet conditions described as 'awful'.
Jack Hardwicke (Strada) won alone whilst his escape partner Mark Richards (DAP CC) punctured.
Chasers Lloyd Chapman (Catford), Ross Fawcett (Pedal Power) and Tommy Power (Strada) watched each other, Morris Bacon (Strada) caught them from behind and gave Strada a numerical advantage – which they exploited to put Power in second spot at the flag with Bacon in third.
A hard-working and organised break dominated the Mid-Suffolk Road Race for third and fourth category roadmen.
These seven all finished more than two minutes clear of the first of the bunch.
The break seems to have ridden powerfully into the awkward head/crosswind alongside Wattisham aerodrome, while no one in the bunch was too keen to head the rest of the field.
Finally the last climb of the hill to Willisham Tye sorted the order. Chris Crabtree (Team LCUK) won while Lowestoft fireman Seb Herrod (Strada Sport) beat Jonny Allen (Rapha CC) for second spot.
