Norwich left their best rugby until late in the game once again as the spirited visitors made them work hard for their points.

Another low start from the hosts saw Epping get their noses in front after 10 minutes when fly-half Dan Jones danced his way through some weak tackles to score under the posts, with the try being converted.

Norwich fought back when the ball went wide to the right and debutant winger and man-of-the-match Mike Lawton chipped ahead, re-gathered his own kick and ran under the posts, with Theo Elliott converting.

A failure to look after the ball resulted in Norwich struggling to make their pressure count, but they managed to take a lead into half-time with an Elliott penalty.

The start of the second half was a disjointed affair and the visitors went ahead again when the ball was worked round the side of the scrum and recycled for Mitch Sinfield to go over for a try that was converted.

Norwich then finally got into their stride and after a sustained period of pressure Epping's scrum-half Archie Unstead was sent to the sin bin for deliberately slapping down a Norwich pass.

The hosts used their numerical advantage well and worked the ball from the scrum out to the left where Elliott dummied the pass and touched down himself before converting his own score.

From the kick-off Nathan Wilson made good ground, offloading to Dave Micklethwaite who bounced his way through several tackles, the ball eventually finding its way to Lawton again who went over in the corner and ran round to the posts to score.

Lawton secured the bonus point with another try shortly afterwards when a rather aimless short chip kick from Epping was caught by Norwich and worked through the hands to Lawton who again crossed in the corner and ran it in under the posts.

Norwich scored again with a splendid crossfield kick by Elliott that found Chris Parrott in the five metre channel out on the right, who caught it and dived over. The conversion was missed.

The final score came when the ball went loose after a good run down the centre by flanker Jake Wharton. Replacement back Rob Micklethwaite was on hand to kick it forward twice and beat the cover to pounce on it underneath the posts, Elliott converting.
