With Team GB winning their first medals of Rio 2016 everyone is getting in the Olympic spirit and over the next week we will let you know where you can take part in Olympic sports right here in Norfolk.

•Archery

Hainford Archers shoot every Sunday from 10.30 am until 12.30 am at the Hainford Village Hall.

Newcomers are welcome and can get their first three session for £6.00 instead of the usual £8.00 fee with all equipment provided.

•Athletics

There are a number of athletics clubs across the county including ones in Norwich, Thetford and Diss which all welcome new members.

Running clubs have also sprung up across the region recently which welcome runners of all abilities.

•Badminton

Dereham Leisure Centre are offering over 60s social badminton sessions every Friday afternoon throughout the year and include a coach for training tips and to organise games.

Prices start at £1.90 for members and £2.10 for non-members.

•Basketball

Great Yarmouth Basketball Club offer weekly open sessions throughout the week at Marina Leisure Centre and Lynn Grove Academy for all ages with children as young as seven welcome to join.

Junior sessions are £2.00 and include a fully qualified coach who will help with skill development. Senior sessions are £3.00 and anyone is welcome to join, even those who have not played before.

•Beach Volleyball

Although there are no beach volleyball clubs in the county there are miles and miles of sandy beaches so all you need to get involved is a net and a ball.

And if you get really good there is a beach volleyball tournament in neighbouring Suffolk each summer on Lowestoft beach.

•Boxing

Attleborough Boxing Club on Deopham Road hold open sessions four times a week alongside their competition squad training sessions. They also hold workout classes for women every Tuesday.

Junior sessions start at £2.00 and seniors at £3.00.

•Canoeing

Eagle Canoe Club is based on the banks of the River Wensum in Norwich and offers a variety of session to new and experienced members as well as trips around the country.

They are currently holding 'This Girl Can' session as part of the Sport England initiative to get more women into sport.

•Cycling BMX

The first thing you will need to try your hand at this sport is a BMX bike and once you have got one of those Norwich Flyers BMX Club based at Sloughbottom Park welcome new and experienced riders.

Practise night sessions are held at the track every Wednesday throughout the summer.

•Cycling Mountain Bike

Norfolk may not be known for its peaks but High Lodge Forest Centre in Thetford does offer some tame routes for first time mountain bike riders.

The marked cycle trails that loop out into the forest include climbs and descents which are gentle and never more than about 100ft in height.

•Cycling Road

There are number of clubs which offer weekly cycle routes around the county but if you have your own bike there are hundreds of routes you can take around the county at no cost at all.

One of the most popular routes is the ancient Peddars Way which takes you from the Brecks to the north Norfolk coast.

•On Wednesday we will be looking at 10 more sports including handball, fencing and gymnastics.
