Fakenham Town begin life without Wayne Anderson this afternoon as they head to Wivenhoe in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division.

Neil Jarvis has been placed in temporary charge at Clipbush Park after Anderson and the Ghosts surprisingly parted company in midweek.

It means Jarvis will not only take charge of Fakenham's final two league games but he will also lead the club out at Carrow Road in the Norfolk Senior Cup final against King's Lynn next month.

But it is league matters that must be attended to first against a Wivenhoe side who will be keen to pull away from trouble at the bottom of the table.

Jarvis admitted events over the past seven days has seen a dark cloud descend on Clipbush Park but that his players must focus on the task at hand in Essex.

'The players are obviously very disappointed that Wayne has left,' he said. 'A lot of them have been with him for several years and he is a great manager to play for.

'But that's the beauty of football – there's always another game and we've all got to shake the feelings of negativity around the place. The lads aren't professionals though – it will be difficult. But the only way to feel better about ourselves is to win football matches.'

Gorleston head to Haverhill Rovers this afternoon looking to build on their 3-0 derby victory against Great Yarmouth Town last weekend. The victory arrested a miserable run of five consecutive defeats for the Greens, who confirmed fourth place with all three points.

Great Yarmouth complete their home campaign when they entertain Saffron Walden Town at Emerald Park. Despite Monday's defeat the Bloaters have got plenty to feel good about this season in their first campaign back in the Premier Division. Yarmouth currently sit in seventh place in the table but could finish as high as fifth if they win their last two games.

Swaffham will be looking to stay off the foot of the table when they go to Long Melford, who have also struggled this term. The Pedlars' fortunes have improved in recent weeks with just one defeat in their last five games and they will be looking to ensure FC Clacton, who are a point behind them, stay rock bottom. Kirkley & Pakefield head to Newmarket Town.
