2009 Aintree Grand National winning jockey Liam Treadwell added the Snellings Norfolk National to his list of successes when Amiral Collonges won Fakenham's longest and richest race of the season yesterday.
Snellings have completed a five-year deal with Fakenham to sponsor the marathon three miles and five furlong contest worth £25,000.
Carli King took the 10 runners around the first three circuits but when that gelding faded it was Treadwell, on the James Evans trained 6/1 chance, who took it up.
Itoldyou was a late challenger but he hit the 22nd and final fence and his chance was gone, leaving Amiral Collonges a five-length winner.
'That was fantastic. He jumped well and travelled wonderfully. At one point he was going too well,' said Treadwell.
'He loved the decent ground. The trainer said he could sulk but he really travelled sweetly.
'I was grumbling about the traffic coming here in the car but the journey home will be much sweeter,' he added.
Champion trainer Nicky Henderson has a decent gelding in five-year-old Tales of the Tweed who landed the novice hurdle under Nico De Boinville after making every yard of the 20-furlong trip.
Favourite Fortified Bay and Paul Nicholls' Trevisani never got to threaten as the 11/8 chance won by six lengths.
Veterans had a good day with 13-year-old That's The Deal turning back the clock in the Snellings Chase, to win at 16/1 under Lee Edwards for John Cornwall.
The gelding's last win was four years earlier at Fakenham but despite being headed by favourite Jamrham, he hit back to score when Jamrham virtually came to a stop after the last.
The opening selling hurdle went to imposing 11-year-old grey gelding Back to Balloo ridden by Ryan Winks for his father, trainer Peter, who is based at Barnsley.
There was no joy for favourite backers until the penultimate race when 6/4 market leader Amron Kali, under Nick Schofield for trainer Paul Henderson, romped away with the mares' hurdle.
In the finale, the Turner Trophy Hunters' Chase, David Kemp's Master Workman made every yard under Sam Davies-Thomas to win by a massive 26 lengths at 5/2.
