Fakenham led 26-7 at half-time but had to play the entire second half with 14 men due to injuries and the home side made full use of their numerical advantage.

A slick passing move ended with George Ready touching down for Fakenham within the first minute and Brett Stolworthy added another try before West Norfolk reduced the arrears.

The visitors hit back with two further scores however, with Tom Bane Young diving in at the corner and Stolworthy running 75 metres to score.

Playing a man down Fakenham were only able to add one further score in the second half through Murray Tindall while West Norfolk scored five times. The last try came from the final play and the subsequent conversion took the hosts ahead for the first time.

North Walsham Raiders moved into second place in Greene King EC1 North with a 36-5 win over Norwich Medics.

A turnover sent Rob King down the right touchline and the supporting Vilikesa Vurewa crossed for the first score and Vurewa went over for his second, with Ted Morgan converting. Dan Smith then burst through a couple of tackles to make it 17-0 at the end of a competitive half.

Five minutes into the second half the outstanding Vurewa burst down the right hand touchline before feeding scrum-half Will Quinn for the bonus point try and Morgan put the game out of Medics' reach, although they replied with a well deserved try.

On the half hour King went over for the fifth Walsham try and fit again outside half Harry Downing sent King in for his second, with Morgan's kick completing the scoring.

Norwich Union Firebirds went down 38-19 at Thetford II, with tries from Rodney Arbon (2) and Ryan Day and Simon Bunting adding two conversions.

Josh Gee scored six tries as Fakenham II saw off Norwich Medics II 62-12. Callum Frost (2), George Loades and captain Adam Steele also touched down.

Thetford were the only Norfolk side to see RFU knock-out action, with the other fixtures being decided by walkovers. They beat Maldon 56-10 in the first round of the Senior Vase.
