Holt secured their fourth win in a row in London Three Eastern Counties in a hard-fought match against their visitors from Woodbridge.

The home side had the edge in the first half but Woodbridge were the first on the scoreboard with an early penalty converted by their No 12 Angus Clogg.

Holt drew level with a James Wyatt penalty kick and increased their lead when Ollie Woodrow cleverly fed Rob Gray who squeezed over near the corner flag for a try, converted by Wyatt, which put the hosts 10-3 ahead.

Just as Holt seemed to be getting on top they were caught out by the visitors' No10 JP Hart who intercepted and raced to the line to touch down under the posts, with Clogg adding the conversion to draw the match level at 10-10.

Holt continued to put pressure on the Woodbridge line and captain Ashley Woods made it 15-10 when he poached a Woodbridge lineout for an unconverted try. A further penalty by Clogg made it 15-13 to the home side at half-time.

Woodbridge came back strongly in the second half with their forwards having the edge over the home pack when it came to the breakdown and as a result most of the rest of the game was played in the Holt half of the pitch.

The hosts managed to hold out due to their well organised defence and high tackle count, with hooker Jo Harrison prominent.

However, Holt did not help themselves with a yellow card reducing them to 14 men at a critical point in the game and Woodbridge came close to taking the lead when their penalty attempt went just wide of the upright.

This proved to be the turning point of the game and Holt secured their victory with a wellstruck penalty from 45 metres out by the ever reliable James Wyatt who was Woodfordes man of the match.

Holt 111 were also at home and beat Fakenham 11 50-5.

Holt's firsts remain fifth in the table, a point behind Ely who beat visitors Crusaders 25-8. It was a decent showing from the visitors, who lost 92-0 at home to Southwold in their previous match.

West Norfolk beat Lowestoft & Yarmouth 48-0 in the match between sides who had started the day without a win between them.
