Dereham's seven-match unbeaten run has finally come to an end.

A late goal after an excellent game at Coles Park sent Dereham home empty-handed – although they remain top of the table after Canvey Island lost 1-0 at Hertford Town.

Haringey – who are third in the table – won two early corners before Jamie Forshaw and Ryan Crisp almost created a chance for the Magpies.

In the 12th minute Forshaw released Rhys Logan on the right, but his powerful drive flew wide.

Dereham continued to probe and Logan combined with Danny Beaumont to set up Crisp, who fired off target.

Haringey had a good opportunity in the 24th minute when Micheal Ademiluyi got to the byline and crossed to the far post but the stretching Anthony McDonald was unable to direct his header on target.

The visitors pressed again, with Crisp heading down to Forshaw who forced home keeper Valeray Pajetat to save his low 20-yard drive.

Before the break Beaumont curled a low diagonal drive into Pajetat's arms as the even half finished goalless.

After the break Dereham kept possession well without finding openings. Haringey's Quba Gordon hit a long-range effort well over.

But the breakthrough came on 67 minutes when McDonald's free-kick from the right fell to Lawrence Yiga at the far post and he netted from close range.

Dereham introduced Dutch midfielder Floris Burgers for his debut and the Magpies were level on 76 minutes. Crisp held the ball up superbly on the edge of the box before finding Forshaw who found the net with an accurate 20-yarder.

Dereham continued to press but their good work was undone when McDonald scored a last minute winner.
