Here is Connor’s verdict on David Wagner’s Norwich City, who saw an eight-game winning run at Carrow Road come to a halt by Bristol City in a 1-1 draw.

• Angus Gunn            9

Starman. Earned a personal shout-out from boss David Wagner for his epic contribution that ensured Norwich left Carrow Road with a point by smothering a host of quality opportunities for the visitors. Made four saves from inside his own box.

Quick off his line to intercept Sykes in the 10th minute after a ball in behind. Pushed Twine's deflected effort over the top after good recovery work from Shane Duffy. Made another smart stop at his near post to thwart Tommy Conway.

Key moment came in the 65th minute, when he cleared Ross McCrorie's header to Twine's feet. Was up quickly to produce a strong one-handed save to deny a certain goal. Showed his strength underneath the ball with two interventions to relieve pressure from corners.

• Jack Stacey              8

Resembled a Tasmanian Devil with his relentless running throughout the encounter. He is a man who doesn't seem to be affected by fatigue.

Made an excellent recovery run on 19 minutes to intercept after Pring was played in behind to stifle a growing attack. Then got on the end on a fine pass in behind from Barnes but saw his cross to the near post cleared.

Showed great tenacity to somehow keep Nunez's long ball in play under pressure from Pring. In a display that lacked energy as a collective, he was constantly running and offering an outlet on the right side. In a really fine run of form currently.

• Shane Duffy              6

Some important moments contained in a performance where Conway caused him and Ben Gibson problems throughout a tasking afternoon at Carrow Road.

Made a key intervention to meet Pring's curled ball forward that sought to send Conway in behind. Recovered well after Sainz was caught in possession to deflect Twine's effort up for Gunn to push over the bar.

Two clearances, two aerial duels and one ground duel won. Did the defensive basics well as illustrated late on when he guarded the ball out of play after a forward pass towards Twine. Reliable.

• Ben Gibson                6

Similarly to his defensive colleague, was a reliable presence throughout the encounter. Completed 82 of his 85 passes throughout the contest.

Unlucky not to guide McLean's fierce cross on target, instead glancing it just past the far post of Max O'Leary's goal. Failed to deal with a bouncing ball under pressure from Conway that left McCallum in need to clear.

Showed bravery late on to put his head in where it hurts to block a cross from Anis Mehmeti in the dying stages of this contest. Is quietly building up a consistent stream of performances at the right time.

• Sam McCallum      7

The left-back was responsible for a flurry of inviting crosses throughout the afternoon - namely in the 72nd minute when his inviting delivery was begging to be turned home by a City colleague.

Could have had a goal himself but failed to keep down a header after Gabriel Sara's corner to the far post. Did well to recover and close the space to McCrorie after a long ball over the top before timing a tackle to perfection.

Made a good block to prevent McCrorie from turning the ball goalwards after City cleared the initial cross. Got through plenty of defensive work, making two interceptions, one block, one tackle and winning three aerial duels.

• Kenny McLean      5

Not the Scot's finest display - and when he fails to hit top gear, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Norwich also struggle to achieve the levels they have found in recent months.

Put under constant pressure by a high Bristol City press, but squandered possession cheaply on multiple occasions in the first half. Sykes' missed opportunity was a huge let off for the City captain. Also caught on the ball as Williams fed Conway on 25 minutes.

Improved as the game wore on, but lost possession on 12 occasions. Uncharacteristic showing from the experienced midfielder and one he will be keen to shake off quickly. Unlucky not to have an assist after a cross for Gibson was glanced wide. Booked late on.

• Marcelino Nunez                    6

Not as neat on the ball as has been the case in recent weeks, completing 54 of his 65 passes throughout the contest.

Unlucky with a well-executed rising volley from a Sara corner after it was cleared to him on the edge of the box. Recovered well to prevent Twine winning the ball high up the pitch after Sara fizzed a ball into him on 40 minutes.

Two rogue passes in quick succession just before he was replaced by Jon Rowe on 56 minutes. Norwich lacked control in possession thereafter.

• Gabby Sara                7

A slow start, but another starring performance from City's brilliant Brazilian. Threaded a beautiful reverse pass through to Josh Sargent for the equalizing goal.

All-action display. Fouled Twine on the edge of the area on 17 minutes, leading to the effort that cannoned off the crossbar. Some lovely passes including for Stacey that led to Sainz's snapshot in the area that O'Leary held on 26 minutes.

Was close to re-creating the quick corner that saw him score at Leicester on Easter Monday but was unable to find the target after being picked out by Nunez from the right.

• Ashley Barnes                        6

On the periphery for some of this contest, but some nice connecting play to spin and send Stacey on a run down the line on 20 minutes. Then did well to block George Tanner to allow McCallum an uncontested header from the near post.

Did well to win smart free kicks in the second period that got Norwich up the pitch at key moments. Dragged deep in search of possession on occasion. Nodded Stacey's cross into the ground before Sainz's first-half strike. Lay off for Sara in the build up to City's equaliser.

• Borja Sainz                7

Scored the equaliser with some excellent movement to support Sargent and receive the pass to tap in for his sixth goal of the campaign.

A good burst forward in the early exchanges enabled him to pick out Sargent who fired a shot against the post. Good movement to create space after the American's through ball only to see his cross blocked for a corner. Loose in possession for Twine's first half effort.

Snapshot from Stacey's cross held well by O'Leary. Defended well to initially dispossess Roberts in the build-up to the opening goal, but failed to track the Brighton defender thereafter.

• Josh Sargent                7

No goal but an impactful performance from the American, who was involved in all the key attacking moments for the Canaries.

Recieved Sainz's pass on the edge before getting a slice of luck that allowed him to fire a snapshot against the post on seven minutes. Then turned provider to slip the Spaniard through ten minutes later.

Lovely movement and turn on Dickie from Sara's pass before unselfishly spotting Sainz for the equaliser moments after Roberts' opener. Asked questions of the Robins defence and a constant threat for Norwich.
