A national charity is looking for volunteers in the Norwich area to help it raise funds for people with dementia.

Volunteers would be helping the Alzheimer's Society to organise a memory walk for late September.

The role would involve joining a fundraising group to plan the walking event and to help raise vital funds for the charity.

Tori Bray-Whitworth, Alzheimer's Society's community fundraiser, said: 'It is vital that Alzheimer's Society continues to support people to live well with dementia today and funds research to find a cure for tomorrow. This wouldn't be possible without the help of our excellent volunteers.

'You don't need any experience to get involved as long as you are committed and enthusiastic then you're the perfect candidate. Volunteering can be great fun and it's also an opportunity to pick up some new skills, with training provided.'

The memory walk is an event that allows people to walk in memory of loved ones. There are both short route and longer route options for people to take part in.

In Norwich, the Alzheimer's Society provides support and information to those living with dementia and their carers and offers services such as Singing for the Brain groups, peer support, and dementia advisers.
