This is the moment Olympic gold medallist Bradley Wiggins saw his hopes of triumph in the Norfolk leg of the Tour of Britain come crashing to an end.

The 32-year-old was one of several riders involved in collisions as the peloton swept into the narrow lanes on the final leg of the 120 kilometres course at the Royal Norfolk Showground.

And tour spectator Stuart Betts was there to capture it on camera.

Speaking afterwards Wiggins admitted it was good to get back on his bike after a 'big summer' - despite the fall.

Wiggins will, though, not be part of Team GB's victory parade through London later today, as the Tour of Britain heads to Nottingham and on towards Knowsley Safari Park.

'I have had easier days on the bike, but it was nice to be back in the team racing, to have a job, a role and routine,' he said.

'It has been a big summer for me, which is hard to come to terms with really - and you can never plan for what happens next.

'When I go to Tesco and am trying to pack the shopping, and you are getting all this (reception), or you are trying to have a pizza with your kids in town, that is difficult.

'You are expected to know the answers to everything, you are the Messiah, everything wants to know what you think, but I don't know the all the answers - I am just human at the end of the day.'
