A tree has been planted and dedicated in Thorpe St Andrew to celebrate the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh's 70th wedding anniversary.
The royal red acer was planted in Fitzmaurice Park, off Pound Lane, and officially dedicated at its unveiling on Monday, November 20.
Town mayor Ian Mackie said: 'Reaching this wonderful milestone required something extra special, this is a beautiful tree that will be a focal point for many years to come.
'The town council sends its heartfelt congratulations to her majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh on their platinum wedding anniversary.'
The tree is one of a several specimens which have been situated on the mark as part of Thorpe St Andrew Parks Project.
The Queen and Prince Philip first met in 1934 at the wedding of Philip's cousin, Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark.
They married in 1947 at Westminster Abbey.
