A community centre helper has been awarded by a supermarket giant for her volunteering efforts.
Carol Oakes who works on the deli counter at Sainsbury's on Pound Lane, Thorpe St Andrew, received an award under the store's local heroes scheme.
The scheme supports and encourages colleagues to give up their time and get involved with their community.
Mrs Oakes received £200 from Sainsbury's which will go towards the refurbishment of the Heathlands Community Centre and Social Club in Blofield.
The supermarket worker volunteers behind the community centre bar and is also a committee member for the venue.
Jason Symonds, Sainsbury's store manager, said: 'We thank Carol for her hard work and dedication in making positive contribution to our local community.'
Mrs Oakes has worked for the Sainsbury's for 27 years and has been involved with Heathlands for 10 years.
