A car which plunged off a cliff near Cromer last night remains on scene this morning.
A man was taken to hospital following the incident in Overstrand.
Police were called to the car park off Paul's Lanes shortly before 8pm following reports a car had gone off a cliff.
When they arrived officers discovered a Vauxhall Vectra on the beach.
Fire crews, the ambulance service and coastguard were all alertered. Cromer's inshore lifeboat was also launched and attended the scene but was in the end not required as other emergency services were in attendance.
Firefighters from Cromer and Mundesley provided casualty care and made the scene safe. No one was trapped in the vehicle.
The male driver, in his 20s, is believed to have received minor injuries as a result of the plunge and was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for treatment.
The man was the only occupant in the vehicle and no other people were injured.
Police cordoned off the carpark and the slip way down to the beach last night while they investigated.
Residents reported hearing sirens rushing past their houses, and at first thought there had been a fire. The car remains on the beach this morning.
A police spokesman said inquiries are continuing to establish what happened, however there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.
