The driver of a black Mini car is being sought by police after a woman was knocked off her bike and broke her leg in Suffolk today.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene shortly before 4pm but the car involved had already left, reported a spokeswoman from Suffolk Constabulary.

The incident was on the B1127 near South Cove, between Wrentham and Southwold.

As well as a broken leg, the female cyclist was also reported by police to have broken her arm and was taken to the James Paget Hospital by paramedics.

The area was cleared by 4.30pm and the road was fully reopened.

Witnesses told police the black Mini involved had headed southbound after the collision, driving from Wrentham towards Southwold.

Anyone who knows the driver or who saw a black Mini in the area was asked to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 271 of February 14.
