A north Norfolk couple are preparing to re-open their popular seafood restaurant after it was damaged in the December 5 storm surge.

Sue and Peter McKnespiey, owners of Cookie's Crab Shop in Salthouse, have been working flat out to get the business back up and running after it was flooded with two feet of water.

The water caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to the newly-decorated building and ruined all the couple's stock.

But they are now working towards a February 15 reopening and have dispelled any rumours they were closing for good.

Mr McKnespiey said: 'We're definitely not shutting and looking forward to having people back in.'

'Cookie's will be back with a bang,' Mrs McKnespiey added.

The restaurant's summer house is being rebuilt and made more secure, while repairs have also been made to the main building's gable end.
