Labour candidate for North Norfolk Stephen Burke has backed his leader Jeremy Corbyn's call for Theresa May to quit over police cuts, in light of the recent terrorist attacks.

Mr Burke was in North Walsham Market Place on Tuesday, June 6 for the unveiling of the party's poster van which will be out and about in the area ahead of the general election in two days' time.

He said: 'I'm excited about the election. We are getting a brilliant response on the streets. The mood in the country has completely changed in the last three weeks, with people moving to Labour.

'Theresa May was Home Secretary for six years so she was directly responsible for police cuts. I would back the call for her to resign.'

Mr Burke wants everyone to vote on Thursday, and added: 'The choice for voters in North Norfolk is clear: on the fence, on the edge or on your side. Only Labour is on your side.'
