Victorious Norwich South MP Clive Lewis, who more than doubled his majority last week, has defended calling a fellow Labour MP a 'sad, lonely, bitter man'.
Mr Lewis hit out at Nottingham East MP Chris Leslie after he said Labour's performance was not good enough and that the party had missed an 'open goal'.
'I think it had to be said,' Mr Lewis said. 'The election result was very impressive and a lot of people put a lot of hard work into achieving it.
'The progress that has been made since 2015 is excellent. Not only did we win seats we now have a whole new set of marginals to focus on next time around.
'There has been a lot of pressure on Jeremy Corbyn from certain parts of the party and I now believe that has to stop. We need to move forward together in a more positive way.'
