Police have closed their investigation into a robbery at a Norwich fish and chip shop which saw an employee 'bound and gagged'.

Back in March, a 54-year-old staff member at Orford Plaice was tied to a pipe in the shop's cellar before being robbed of his money.

The robber, who was believed to be unarmed, used duct tape to restrain the employee and seal his mouth shut.

He escaped with a large sum of money and the victim's wallet between 7am and 7.30am on Friday, March 3.

A police spokesman said the case was now closed as an investigation was 'unable' to find any evidence pointing towards a suspect.

The spokesman said forensic tests came back negative and there was no CCTV footage.

Speaking after the incident, the victim said: 'When he tied me up I was terrified and I thought what the hell is going to happen now, it was horrible.'
