Norfolk police have rescued a small piglet near RAF Lakenheath following a hog pursuit.

Inspector Victoria Hebborn was travelling near the Royal Air Force station in Suffolk when she noticed a piglet marching along the roadside.

To prevent the young pig from causing a hazard to other road users or getting itself hurt, she pulled over and attempted to capture it.

However the piglet had other ideas and tried to escape into the grounds of RAF Lakenheath.

After a hot pursuit, Inspector Hebborn eventually managed to corner the animal and save its bacon.

In a post on Instagram, Norfolk Police said: 'The piglet has now been rehomed where we have been reliably informed it is being spoiled.'

Inspector Hebborn added: 'Just so people are aware in case anyone would like to make a donation to help the piglet, she went to PACT animal sanctuary in Woodrising near Hingham.'
