Researchers have appealed for help to build a picture of the role women played in the First World War for an upcoming exhibition.

Wymondham Heritage Museum plans to stage a display on the topic next year to mark the centenary of the war's end in 1918.

Mike Foyle, the museum's vice-president, said: 'Maybe your great aunt was a nurse or kept services running like Miss Hartie Elvin, later Mrs Clover, who was a post lady during the 1914-1918 conflict?

'Two drop-in session have been arranged for anyone who has information they are happy to share.'

The sessions will take place on Saturday, July 15 and August 19 from 10am to midday.

Mr Foyle said: 'Have a chat and a cup of tea with the museum's staff about how your relative contributed to the war effort. Please bring any photographs or documents the museum can copy for the display.'
