While many slumbered off the effects of Christmas indulgence, it was full steam ahead for the competitors in a larger-than-life charity road race this Boxing Day.
The annual Larling Tractor Run saw 171 tractors take to the roads of rural Norfolk.
Machines from the 1950s to the present day, some carrying trailers behind them, gathered at the start line – the Angel Inn off the B1111 – on the chilly Monday morning before setting off on their 18-mile route.
So far the event has raised £3,336 for brain injury charity Headway Norfolk and Waveney, with more sponsorship money still to come in.
It was the 13th time the race has taken place, with organisers hoping next year will see an even bigger total for charity.
Sharon Garrod, who manages the event with her husband Shaun and their children, said: 'We are really pleased because Headway is such a small charity and a lot of people do not know about it, but they do a tremendous job supporting people with brain injuries.
'It was a glorious day, and we had a lot of support from the participants and the spectators.'
The 2015 event saw 185 participants bring their tractors along for the run and raised £2,600 – this year's total has given the Garrods confidence in the tractor run's longevity.
Mrs Garrod said: 'With 171 tractors taking part this year we had quite a convoy around the route.
'We are grateful for the support we received, and the weather was very kind to us.
'This was the 13th year and hopefully there will be many more events to come.'
