It's an unusual sight in Cromer town centre - so a 1943 jeep attracted plenty of admiring glances from onlookers.

The vehicle was parked on the pavement outside the parish hall in Church Street, as part of an Armed Forces Day event.

Its owner Nobby Clark, from North Walsham, who is a member of the Norfolk Military Vehicle Group, said: 'All jeeps are American and this one ended up in Norway at the end of the Second World War. It's called Chippy.'

John Needham, from the town's Royal British Legion branch, which organised the event, said: 'This was the nearest date to Armed Forces Day, on June 24, that the parish hall was available.'

Visitors on Saturday, June 17, could see more about the history of the armed forces inside the parish hall where there were various displays and stalls. People show their support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community each year in June.
