They formed after being inspired by the Military Wives and now the Marham Bluebirds Military Wives Choir hope their efforts will top the charts this weekend.

The choir performed with other choirs across in the country on the new Military Wives album, Stronger Together, which was released on Monday and is set to top the album chart on Remembrance Sunday.

Consisting of the wives, partners and girlfriends of personnel based at RAF Marham and servicewomen, the choir only formed in January but was quickly invited to join the Military Wives Choir Foundation.

Some of the choir's members then went to Abbey Road in London in March to take part in the recording of Sing, which was written for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

The choir also joined ten other choirs to perform Sing last month at the Classic BRIT Awards 2012, alongside Gareth Malone, Gary Barlow and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

The choir has also helped the Military Wives to break the world record for the biggest ever video shoot in music history, shooting the video for the title track Stronger Together.

Nicola Holder, the choir's spokesperson, said members of the choir performed on three album tracks Stronger Together, One Voice and Counting Time.

She added: 'We are proud of our contributions to the album – as well as helping to set the new world record.

'The choir has also been incredibly honoured to have performed at events both on and off camp – including a Battle of Britain Remembrance Day in Norwich and the unveiling of Peterborough city centre's new war memorial.'

The Military Wives won the hearts of the nation after appearing with Mr Malone on the BBC Two series The Choir: Military Wives last year, and continue to go from strength to strength.

From the original 100 choir members who featured on the Christmas number one single, the Military Wives have expanded almost eight times their original size to 760 members from British military communities at home and overseas.

The Military Wives second album is a follow-up to number one album In My Dreams and features the wives' own version of Take That's Rule The World

The album unites 24 military choirs – including the Marham Bluebirds MWC – with mentor and television choirmaster Gareth Malone who wrote some of the songs performed by the choir.

Stronger Together was recorded over 20 days by a mobile recording team who covered a distance of 4,500 miles, taking in choirs in Germany and Cyprus.

A minimum donation of 1 per album sold at full price in the UK will be paid to the Military Wives Choirs Foundation, which supports and funds individual choirs and helps bring them together for national projects

The Marham Bluebirds MWC is also gearing up to headline at a special charity concert later this month which will be held at Tattersalls in Newmarket on Friday, November 16.

Tickets cost 25 which includes a champagne reception with all proceeds going to EACH, the Newmarket Day Centre, the National Horseracing Museum and the Injured Jockeys Fund.
