Osc-Hare - who made his debut appearance at a special GoGoHares sponsors this evening at Norwich University of the Arts last night - will be one of 50 sculptures dotted around Norwich in summer 2018, each one representing a year in the life of Break.

As well as the city hares, there will also be a group of moongazer hare sculptures scattered around the wider county for GoGo fans to find, and all of the colourful characters will be sponsored by local organisations and designed by artists

Michael Rooney, commercial manager for Break which is presenting GoGoHares with Wild in Art, said: 'Break is heading for such an exciting time over the next 18 months as we celebrate 50 years of working with local vulnerable children, young people and families in 2018.

'This coincides with the GoGoHares sculpture trail bringing fun and creativity to the city and county as well as highlighting some of the fantastic work that Break does.'

Osc-Hare, whose gold appearance is reminiscent of an Academy Award Oscar, has been sponsored by intu Chapelfield shopping centre.

Sheridan Smith, marketing manager at intu Chapelfield, said: 'Everyone at intu Chapelfield is so excited to be working with the team at Break again, we can't wait for GoGoHares! We've had a sneak preview of our hare, Osc-Hare, and he is absolutely stunning. It is a privilege to be able to support such an amazing local charity.'

All 50 city hares now have sponsors but there is still time for sponsors to snap up the few remaining moongazer hare sculptures.

Artists also have until August 28 to submit their hare designs for consideration.

Running alongside the city and county trails there is also a GoGoCreate learning programme which is giving schools, clubs and organisations the chance to create their own leaping leverets that will form another city centre trail.

Next year the city and moongazer GoGoHares trails will run from June 24 to September 8 and the GoGoCreate trail of leaping leverets will run from July 2 to September 2.

Looking back at the GoGoGorillas! and GoGoDragons!

When the GoGoHares hop into Norwich and Norfolk in summer 2018 they will be following the footsteps of two other sets of GoGo stars that captured the hearts of people of all ages.

The GoGoGorillas! and GoGoDragons! charity art trails were a huge hit when they decorated Norwich in the summers of 2013 and 2015.

Eighty-four GoGoDragons! flew in for the 2015 trail and at auction the colourful clan of winged warriors raised £369,500 for Break.

Two years earlier, in 2013 a troop of 54 GoGoGorillas! decorated the city and at auction raised £272,300 for Break and the Born Free Foundation.

Local schoolchildren also got involved with the GoGo fun by creating their own trails of baby GoGoGorillas! and GoGoDragons!

More than 100 schools and community groups created mini fire-breathers as part of the GoGoDragons! Schools Project and schools and groups across Norfolk also decorated 67 baby gorillas.
