The footage, taken by the EDP, shows the extensive damage caused by the fire, with the building's thatch totally destroyed and its interior gutted.

Head chef Alex Clare revealed that the fire had even cooked food in its fridges.

Co-owners Greg Adjemian and chef patron Daniel Smith aim to be back in business next year.

However, surrounding roads could remain closed until October, meaning more problems for motorists, who have had to find alternate routes.

A spokesman for Norfolk Highways said: 'We have made an emergency road closure for a period of up to 21 days, which is the maximum allowed for a road closure of this type and takes it to October 2. At this stage we cannot say whether the road will be closed for that long, but it can be if necessary, now the order is in place.'
