It started off as an idea during the beginning stages of maternity leave.

But that dream has become a reality for entrepreneurial mother-of-two Emma Victor-Smith, from Hethersett, who has created a new events business for Norfolk mums.

We Got This will bring like-minded people together through activities including talks from experts and popular online parent bloggers.

The events are aimed at encouraging women to develop business ideas and build up their confidence to go back to work after having children.

Entertaining events, covering topics from fashion, comedy and writing, will aim at allowing mothers to meet and have time away from family and work commitments.

Mrs Victor-Smith, 37, a freelance brand marketing consultant, who has a three-year-old girl and nine-month-old boy, came up with the idea when her son was six months old.

She said: 'It is to inspire mums, entertain them and reassure them. It is for women who want to find a new way to earn money or carve out some me-time.'

In August, Mrs Victor-Smith, who grew up in Great Yarmouth, surveyed 93 mothers in the Norwich area and out of that 77pc said they would come to listen to inspiring speakers, take part in workshops, talks and get-togethers.

'The words juggle, balance and me-time came out in the online survey. They are the biggest challenges that Norfolk mothers face,' Mrs Victor-Smith added.

'There has been an incredible response to this idea. I hope it will help parents carve out a bit of time to do the things they love, as well as enjoy family life. I am really excited to welcome the speakers to Norwich.'

She said it was also important to boost confidence in mothers' work skills.

Mrs Victor-Smith said: 'When you start a family you have to adapt you life to fit in with your changing headspace.'

It is hoped We Got This will hold four big events each year as well as smaller workshops and supper clubs.

The first is An audience with Kate Kirby, author of Hurrah for Gin, at OPEN Norwich, Bank Plain, on Tuesday, November 21, from 6pm-9pm.

Tickets for the talk cost £19 and are available by visiting www.wegotthisco.com
