A Norwich-based home care company has donated ten copies of a book to Norfolk's busiest library to help families affected by dementia.
Home Instead Senior Care, which helps older people to remain in their own homes for longer, handed over the copies to the Millennium Library in Norwich.
Confidence to Care, which has been published by Home Instead, is a handbook for those caring for a loved one living with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, which includes personal stories and practical advice to help them provide the best and most effective care possible.
Its primary focus is on the effective prevention and management of certain memory and behaviour symptoms, including refusal, aggression, delusions and wandering, which family carers often need help with.
Chris Carter, of Home Instead, said: 'As dementia care specialists, we know all too well the challenges that people are met with when caring for someone with a dementia. With an ageing population, cases of dementia are increasing at an alarming rate, which means that more and more people will be affected by the disease at some point in their lives. Through our book donation and upcoming events, we hope to be able to help people in our area to better understand dementia and create a more dementia friendly community.'
