Stefano Delgado, 31, lives in Great Yarmouth and is also a meteorologist.

He said: 'I have had depress and bipolar since 2002, so I have had this now for 15 years.

'It affects me because I don't always want to go out and socialise, I prefer to stay in the house and not see anybody.

'I also lack motivation to do other things in life, simple things like shopping.'

Stefano said the conditions can make him feel 'worthless', but that it was key to hold on to family and friends.

'It has also cost me friends that I have had in the past - and past relationships. Whenever I have a bipolar episode, this can and will affect other people in my life,' he said.

But he said keeping those people close was important.

'Talking to your friends and family can have a real impact and can be a great help. If they are your true friends they will always stand by you and help you,' he added.

'In terms of coping, I find driving in my car helps,' he said.

'I find it soothing and relaxing - and free from trouble! I don't have the motivation to do exercises sometimes however, going to a spa helps me for the couple of hours I spend there.'

And he said being open and honest with a doctor was key too.

'Tell them everything. They can have a better understanding of what you are going through,' he said.
