Volunteers from a Norfolk charity shop have been praised after raising more than £500,000 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

The crew from Anglia One flew into Harleston to thank the dedicated volunteers at the Bullock Fair Charity Shop after hitting the landmark figure for the lifesaving charity.

The shop's three main charities are the East Anglian Air Ambulance, All Hallows Hospital at Ditchingham and East Anglia's Children's Hospices, and was established in 1999. The shop surpassed the £1m fundraising mark last year.

A thank you event was hosted by the charity at a local school as a way of showing appreciation and recognition for what they've done to raise the sum.

Jess Down, area fundraising manager for the air ambulance, said: 'The shop has supported the charity since 2004 and the volunteers there are so dedicated to helping us. We really can't thank them enough for the wonderful job they do to help us keep our helicopters flying across the region.

'Everyone seemed to really enjoy chatting to the crew and finding out what they do and we presented everyone with a paperweight each as a token of our thanks. '
