A Norwich business has expanded and taken over the site of a popular taco and cocktail bar in the Lanes.
Bar Hawthorn on St Gregorys Alley has opened a downstairs area in the former home of Lust & Liqour on St Benedicts Street.
Lust & Liquor recently closed both their locations in the city. A post on Facebook revealed the team were 'not sure' when their Unthank Road property would reopen.
Richard O'Brien, owner of Bar Hawthorn, said: 'We've had the upstairs bar for a little over a year now, then the opportunity came up for us to take over the old Lust & Liqour site and the timing seemed right!
'Our upstairs bar is still running exactly as was, so with downstairs it was important to create a different feel and offering, a bit less fussy but with the same quality.
'The downstairs bar is much brighter and modern, with a bit of a Scandi feel to it.'
He added: 'While every drink upstairs is our own creation, downstairs we'll be faithfully recreating classic cocktails, from the prohibition era through to the modern classics.'
