Students at the College of West Anglia's King Lynn campus have raised £130 for a hospital appeal.

The pupils offered a two-hour hairdressing session, including hand and arm massage, for 13 clients as part of a charity fundraiser for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital's Excel Appeal.

The appeal, supported by the EDP, aims to raise £50,000 for specialist care equipment for elderly patients at the hospital.

More than £35,000 has been raised since the appeal was launched nearly 18 months ago.

Lisa Gallacher, course director for hairdressing, organised the event.

She said: 'Our students worked really hard and clients seemed to thoroughly enjoy their services.

'It was nice to be able to support our local hospital and hopefully we can do similar events in the future.'

Laurence Morlaas, the hospital's fundraising executive, said: 'We are grateful.'
