The people of Great Yarmouth have gathered to pay their respects to the thousands of troops who lost their lives liberating Europe.
A service was held in St George's Park to mark the 73rd anniversary of D-Day and the Allied push to rid western Europe of Hitler's armies.
The ceremony started with a parade of cadets, veterans and civic dignitaries led by a cadets band and watched by a small crowd of people.
Team vicar at Yarmouth Minster, Rev Jemma Sander-Heys, led the service at the war memorial and as well as remembering the sacrifices made on D-Day she said people should always remember all those who had died in the 'service of humanity'.
There was moment of silence before the mayor of the borough of Great Yarmouth Kerry Robinson-Payne laid the first wreath.
The national anthem was also sung.
The service was shortened due to the inclement weather.
